- Fagers Island for fine dining in Ocean City. Enjoy Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture while watching the sun set over Assawoman Bay. Located at 60th St. & the Bay. The web address - www.fagers.com/restaurant .
- Nicks Ribs is a sure favorite for rib lovers. It has a limited menu but great ribs, chicken & crab cakes. Located on the northbound lane of Coastal Hwy (Rte.1) just over the MD/DE line.
- Cactus Cafe has the best authentic Mexican fare in Delaware and is always jammed but worth a visit for the seafood chimichangas and live ethnic music! It’s located on Rte. 54 West before Harris Teeters.
- In the same shopping center as Cactus is Carusos At The Beach. They have the best sandwiches & pizza in the area. I haven’t tested any of their long list of pasta specialities yet. Phone them for take out (or eat in)at (302) 436-8301.
- Georgia House is my favorite place in Sussex County for great Southern cooking and delicious side dishes! My pick is the buttermilk fried boneless chicken breast but Fran swears by the meatloaf. There are a few around the county but the closest is in the town of Selbyville on Rte. 54 West. If you get lost…the official address is:
2 E Church St, Selbyville, DE 19975 (corner of Rte. 54)
Contact Phone: (302) 436-6474 - Heading north up Coastal Hwy. about a 1/2 hr. drive to the Dewey Beach/Rehoboth area is a great seafood place called “Big Fish”. You can find lots of good fish & seafood here…we’ve never been disappointed! It’s on the southbound lane of Coastal Hwy. Call 302-227-FISH.
- Looking for some great fried chicken for a picnic on the beach or Assateague Island? You won’t believe this but the best spot around is Marvin’s Market/Gas Station on Rte. 54 (if you see Harris Teeter, you went too far!) I’ve called ahead to special order several buckets and it has never disappointed. You’ll want to give them a call at (302) 436-5001.

I am Just Hooked on a new restaurant in Fenwick Island, Delaware. The restaurant is located at 1500 coastal Highway.
They serve lunch and dinner. You can find appetizers, soup, salads, sandwiches and burgers on their lunch menu. Their dinner menu features seafood, but it also includes chicken and steak.
Just Hooked is light and airy with a relaxed atmosphere. The food is fresh and flavorful. They advertise local ingredients.
They have a comfortable bar in the center of the restaurant and an open kitchen.
I had fresh grilled asparagus salad for an appetizer. It had shallots, roasted tomato and bacon balsamic vinaigrette. The asparagus was slightly firm and grilled perfectly. I also enjoyed the fresh grilled tuna which was served over arugula, tomato and red onion. My husband and I split key lime pie for dessert. The graham cracker crust was sweet and slightly crunchy, and the custard had a delicious sweet and tart flavor. We loved it. (I could have easily eaten the entire dessert by myself.)
My daughter enjoyed the corn and jalapeño crab bisque and the mussels with bok choy and lemongrass. She also had the soft crab special. The soft crabs were fresh and flavorful.
My son ordered clams with pancetta. spinach, capers and white wine sauce for an appetizer. He also had the jumbo lump crab cakes. They were served with apple slaw and crème fraîche. My children split the strawberry and basil buckle for dessert. It was served warm over vanilla ice cream.
I highly recommend Just Hooked. The food is delicious, and it is reasonably priced!
